THE SURVEY TAB
FormBuilder starts on the survey tab when it is opened.
The survey tab is divided into two panels;
A. The Meta Data Panel, where you will provide information about your survey (such as survey name and location);
B. The Sample Size Calculator Panel houses a sample size calculator. This tool allows you to determine how many people you need to interview in order to get results that reflect the target population as precisely as needed. This panel is optional.
1. Location dropdown menu:
Each survey must have a location and department. This drop down includes the locations where the user has permission to create surveys. The location and department determine which fieldworkers are eligible to download the survey and how records from the survey are counted on the dashboards.
2. Department dropdown menu:
Each survey must have a location and department. This drop down includes the departments where the user has permission to create surveys. The location and department determine which fieldworkers are eligible to download the survey and how records from the survey are counted on the dashboards.
3. Sharing status dropdown menu:
mFieldwork maintains a library of past surveys and you can add questions from library surveys to your survey on the questions tab. The sharing status of each survey determines who will be able to access the survey and reuse its questions. There are three sharing statuses:
My Library: Only the survey supervisor will be see this survey in their library.
Org library: Only users from the same organization will see the survey in their library.
Public library: All users on the mFieldwork platform will see this survey in their library.
4. Supervisor dropdown menu:
Each survey must have a supervisor. The supervisor name appears on all pages about the survey and at the top of data export files. A table on the web application homepage [LB1] presents statistics of the number of records each supervisor has overseen. This menu is restricted to only those users who are eligible to be survey supervisors in the location and department of the survey. This includes any user with the role “Account Admin,” “Department Admin,” and “survey Supervisor”
5. Language dropdown menu
This menu allows you to specify the language of the survey. This is an optional field. mFieldwork does not support multi language surveys at this time.
6. Meta Tag text box
This is a free text field where you may enter keywords about your survey. mFieldwork will build a search function in the future that will help you find your survey based on these keywords.
7. Survey Name text box
Each survey needs a name. Short clear names will ensure you can identify your survey in a long list of surveys on the web or on the mobile. The name will be displayed on all pages about the survey, at the top of the data export, and on the mobile application.
8. Description text area
This text area may be used to give extra information and comments about the survey. This information only appears here in the FormBuilder.
